Your AI coding agent sends you a text when a long task finishes. One MCP plugin, any agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf).

What EMIT does

EMIT is a one-tool MCP plugin. You install it once. Any AI agent you run can send an SMS to your verified phone when something happens you'd want to know about.

Sample messages you'll receive:

Build finished: 3 tests failed in src/auth.ts. Run npm test to see details.
Deploy completed to production. v2.4.1 - 0 errors, 312ms p95.
Migration done: 284,000 rows updated. Ready to merge.

How you opt in

  1. You install @emit/mcp from npm and run npx @emit/mcp setup.
  2. Setup opens this site and asks you to sign in with GitHub OAuth.
  3. You verify your phone number via SMS one-time code.
  4. You receive an EMIT_TOKEN to install in your agent's MCP config.
  5. From that point, only your agents (using your token) can text your phone via EMIT.

Setup takes under a minute. No SMS is ever sent until you complete this opt-in flow.

Message frequency & rates

You only receive messages when one of your agents calls text_user(). Typical frequency is 0-5 messages per day depending on how active your agents are. Message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier's plan. EMIT does not charge you for SMS.

How to opt out

Reply STOP to any EMIT SMS to unsubscribe immediately. We will stop sending messages to your number and revoke your EMIT_TOKEN. You can also revoke your token by signing back in to the auth page. Reply HELP at any time to receive contact information.
